Rocky Mount resident lashes out at playing the race card.
I am writing to support the Telegram’s decision to run an article exposing City Council member Andre Knight’s decision not to pay his taxes on time for the second year in a row.
There are also a couple of issues I would like to address in Curmilus Dancy’s April 23 letter (“Attacks on Knight are racist”).
The first problem with his letter is that he doesn’t seem nearly as concerned about this city councilman paying his taxes as he does slandering the paper for exposing the leader’s situation.
My second issue with Mr. Dancy’s letter is that he is so quick to play the race card. This is a leadership issue, not a black-white issue. If it’s equal opportunity Andre Knight is looking for, the government will accept anyone’s tax money.
