An interesting case is developing in Ontario, California. A 14-year-old student was expelled from a Christian private school because her “parents” are lesbians–well, her mother is. Obviously the other one isn’t a parent. Furthermore the school’s superintendent has admitted in writing that this is the case.
In other words an institution is actually trying to enforce some kind of moral standards and decent behavior on Americans and IS NOT TRYING TO WEASEL OUT OF IT after getting some publicity and criticism from cable news pundits –that’s the kicker!
Shay Clark was expelled from Ontario Christian School on Thursday. Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote “Your family does not meet the policies of admission” in a masterpiece of understatement to Tina Clark, the girl’s biological mother.
School policy requires that at least one parent may not engage in practices “immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style, such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship.” In other words, if one parent runs off to be a drug addict or a slut or a bugger boy, but the remaining parent is trying to raise the child right, that’s fine. This is a necessary precaution in these days of complete moral chaos. But for the Ontario Christian Academy–or any school or public institution–to accept a child who comes from a household with homosexual “parents” would be to imply that homosexuality is acceptable. This is where most kosher conservatives roll over and play dead. They simply don’t have the chops to risk a lawsuit in order to defend what is right. Mr. Stob appears to be made of sterner stuff.
Tina Clark says she and her loathsome “partner” won’t fight the ruling. One really wonders why on earth a couple of lesbians would want to send their daughter to a Christian school to begin with, if not to start a legal fight. Sounds like the classic “Do as I say, not as I do.” Does Tina Clark want to try and make sure that her daughter doesn’t grow up like her? More likely she wants Christians to write a loophole into their religion so that her lifestyle is tolerated. Someone should tell her God doesn’t work that way.
