A Thousand New Big Brothers for the Internet

Got a new ITT degree? Can’t get a job because of the Obama Depression? Well, have no fear, Big Brother is hiring. A recent news article reports: “The Obama administration has given a green light to the Homeland Security Department to be more competitive and choosey as it hires up to 1,000 new cyber experts over the next three years, the first major personnel move to fulfill its vow to bolster security of the nation’s computer networks.”

You don’t suppose these “security experts” will be spying on bloggers and creating files on anyone who opposes Obama’s policies, do you?

The article notes “Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who made the announcement on Thursday, said the hiring plan reflects the Obama administration’s commitment to improving cyber security. The move gives DHS officials far greater flexibility to hire whom they want, outside of more stringent federal guidelines. And it will also allow more latitude in pay.”

Sounds like they actually want competent people. “Avoiding federal guidelines” usually means they don’t have to bother with quota-hires, who are about as useful as potted plants. There have allegedly been some genuine outside intrusions by the Red Chinese, North Koreans and other nations that want to spy on us or sabotage the Internet. It’s not that hard to stop them. Simply keep certain critical things such as controlling power grids or top secret information off the Internet so a talented hacker can’t access those things. Most likely, the “outside threat” is just an excuse so they can increase Internet surveillance against patriots at a time when the economy is in the tank and they should be laying off government workers.

The article continues “Much of the funding already has been budgeted, but DHS also is working with Congress for more money. Officials refused to say how much money the program would represent…The hiring push also underscores the administration’s ongoing struggle to better organize and manage the country’s vulnerable digital defense. President Barack Obama vowed in February to tackle cyber issues, but still has not named a cyber coordinator, a job that experts say will be difficult to fill.”

Oh great, there’s going to be an Internet czar along with all the other un-Constitutional and unaccountable “czars” created by this regime. Just what we need.

The Obama regime must be getting a little paranoid about the Internet. We know they’re not too happy about the “Birther” movement and all those embarrassing little details trickling out to the public. There’s that youtube where his African grandmother says he was born in Kenya, and all those other youtubes explaining how the Hawaiian COLB (Certificate of Live Birth) is given to parents of foreign born students so it does NOT prove US citizenship. And that Obama has spent about a million and a half dollars in legal fees fighting lawsuits, which could be shut down simply by producing a legitimate US birth certificate.

Then there are websites where patriots warn people how much Obama’s health care scheme is going to cost them and where patriots organized a massive anti-tax rally in Washington DC. How can Obama create an all-powerful socialist government if there are annoying patriots out there, who stand in his way?

The Internet is the only place that one can get legitimate news any more. Only here can one find unfettered commentary like this on blogs and websites. It is also only on the Internet that people can easily access foreign newspapers and media that often provide news about events in America, that the mainstream media dutifully censors from the American public.

Before the Obama regime can impose a neo-Marxist socialist tyranny, they have to choke off the free flow of uncensored information. That’s why they have their eyes on the Internet.
