Can We Force McCain to Do our Will?

Can a Contract with Conservative America Rein in McCain?

by James Buchanan

John McCain

I have a curious idea. I’m not sure if it has a prayer, but why not use McCain’s flip-flopping back-stabbing nature for our benefit? He’ll basically do anything to win. His appointment of Sarah Palin seems to be an attempt to get conservative and far right Pat Buchanan voters in his camp. Unfortunately, having a conservative VP does not guarantee that McCain will do what we want him to.

Why not draw up a contract to force McCain to stay within certain limits that conservative voters want? Violation of the contract would constitute a severe breach of public trust, which McCain would agree in writing as grounds for Impeachment.

What should we demand McCain do? Well, we know what we don’t want him to do. We don’t want McCain to grant the illegal aliens an Amnesty. We don’t want a war on Iran, and we don’t want to be in Iraq for 100 years.

The Contract with Conservative America could go like this:

1).John McCain shall not grant an amnesty to illegal aliens, nor will he increase legal immigration from the Third World. As president, John McCain will veto any bills that attempt these things. Immigration laws will be enforced, employers of illegal aliens will be arrested and prosecuted. All illegal aliens arrested for crimes will be immediately deported. The organization Numbers USA will decide if McCain’s efforts are adequate.

2).John McCain will withdraw US forces from the Republic of Iraq if the Iraqi Government asks the US to leave. We will not stay regardless of what the Iraqi government wants.

3).John McCain will not start any wars without a full vote by Congress and the support of Britain, France and Germany.

4).John McCain agrees that the failure to abide with any part of this contract constitutes a major betrayal of public trust and grounds for Impeachment.

The election is going to be very close, and McCain is not going to win without the support of conservative Americans. Right now many conservatives are planning to not vote for McCain. While Sarah Palin is well-liked by many conservatives, McCain is not. The president can completely ignore his vice president so some assurance that the president will not betray conservative interests is absolutely vital.

The prospect of an Obama presidency is something, we’d all like to avoid. But we must have some assurance that we’re getting a president, who will not betray our interests and destroy America with an ill-advised Amnesty.
