Isn’t that amazing!? The German government decided that Germans who, or whose parents, lost everything after WWII and Polish occupation of Germany’s eastern provinces, would not be entitled to any restitution. Many Germans had their goods confiscated by the communists in what is now eastern Germany. Most of them won’t be entitled to any restitutions either
But when it comes to the self chosen, it’s a different story! When we thought Germany had paid enough war reparations to Israel, a country that didn’t even exist yet last time Germany was at war; they now claim, and of course get what ever they can put their hands on!

BERLIN, Germany (AP) — A German court has rejected an appeal by the country’s biggest retail chain over disputed property claimed by the heirs of a Jewish family that lost its department store fortune under the Nazis.
KarstadtQuelle has been fighting a decision by Berlin’s restitution agency awarding the Wertheim heirs rights to land near the city’s glitzy Potsdamer Platz.
The decision on the land at Leipziger Platz — where a nightclub now sits — is likely to set a precedent for a total of 10 hectares (24.7 acres) in the neighborhood, family lawyers say.
