Some More Equal than Others

Will Gay Hate Crime Bill cause employers to fire straight White males to avoid investigations?

by Ian Mosley

In his classic anti-Communist novel Animal Farm, George Orwell wrote “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” That appears to be the working principle of the United States government, and especially the liberal wing of the Democratic party. Thanks to racial quotas, many Democrats are first in line for jobs. Seems like a new category of crazy left wing privilege is created every year. Recently I saw an article about someone getting hired for a government job as a transgender employee. Not only do these special classes of people get first choice for jobs, they get special protection from crime. Since employment discrimination is a crime, some employers may become reluctant to fire “protected” people.

A recent news article reports “The House voted Thursday to make it a federal crime to assault people because of their sexual orientation, significantly expanding the hate crimes law enacted in the days after Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination in 1968. With expected passage by the Senate, federal prosecutors will for the first time be able to intervene in cases of violence perpetrated against gays. Civil rights groups and their Democratic allies have been trying for more than a decade to broaden the reach of hate crimes law. This time it appears they will succeed. The measure is attached to a must-pass $680 billion defense policy bill… ‘It’s a very exciting day for us here in the Capitol,’ said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.”

Blacks, Latinos, women and transgender individuals are all eligible for special quotas, created by Democrats, which essentially steal jobs from better-qualified White males (who tend more and more to be Republican). While hate crime laws may not seem like a “big deal”, they are. They make one group of people more protected than everyone else.

In a depressed economy, like our current one, hate crime laws could easily make employers afraid to lay off any “protected” classes of people for fear of a hate crime investigation/prosecution. Just the cost alone of having to hire lawyers to fight off false charges would be chilling. It would be no surprise if every laid off Black, Latino and Gay squealed “Foul” and demanded a criminal investigation of their employer as a deliberate political abuse of the process. How long until employers quietly decide that it’s much safer and less controversial to lay off White males instead of any of the “special” classes of people, which is what the Democrats intended to happen all along?
