The Yid Who Stole Christmas

The right wing talk radio crowd has lost a lot of credibility in recent years as they “carried George Bush’s water” to quote Rush Limbaugh. But they do have many valid points, and one of these is that there is very definitely a war on Christmas. They generally stop short of pointing the finger of guilt at the Jews, but nine out of ten times it seems to be a Jewish liberal or Jewish atheist who is filing lawsuits and waging the war on Christmas. Most recently, no less than a rabbi came forward to file one of these lawsuits.

On Friday, in Seattle, Hasidic rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky threatened to sue Sea-Tac airport if they did not include a huge, garish eight-foot-tall Jewish menorah in their decorations, along with the Christmas trees which were placed around the terminals. In a panic at the thought of appearing “anti-Semitic” and even more so at the prospect of becoming entangled with lawyers, the cowardly airport authorities pulled down all the Christmas trees in the wee hours of Saturday morning and spirited them away in the night. But much to everyone’s surprise, this particular skirmish in the Jewish war on Christmas seems to have stirred up a hornet’s nest. Ordinary Americans have had enough and no pushy little Yiddish rabbi is going to take down their Christmas trees.

The Seattle Times reports “The holiday trees that went away in the middle of the night are back.” (”Holiday trees” is now the politically correct term for Christmas trees, so that liberal media people need not mention the name of Christ.) “Tonight, Port of Seattle staff began putting up the trees they had taken down Friday night after a local rabbi requested that a Hanukkah menorah also be displayed. Port officials said the rabbi’s lawyer had threatened to imminently file a lawsuit, leaving them with insufficient time to consider all the issues. A nationwide furor erupted over the weekend as news of the trees’ removal spread, with a flood of calls to Port officials and harshly worded e-mails to Jewish organizations. Today, Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky said he would not file a lawsuit and the Port, in response, said it would put the trees back up….a menorah will not be displayed this year.” (i.e. the Jew was probably caught off guard by the Gentile anger he caused, and he backed down.)

The Seattle Times continues, “The reaction to the trees’ removal had been swift and vociferous. News outlets nationwide picked up the story…..Port Commissioner John Creighton said he had been swamped with e-mails, 99.9 percent of which supported putting the trees put back up.”

Rabbi Bogomilsky and his attorney, Harvey Grad, also complained to the media and on the O’Reilly Factor show that he has been getting all kinds of nasty e-mail messages and phone calls from outraged Gentiles. The Times article says, “Robert Jacobs, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, said about 14 organizations or rabbis had reported receiving hate e-mail. On Monday, his organization was advising local Jewish institutions that have received significant numbers of hate e-mails to consider having security during Hanukah and other holiday season events.”

An interesting example of Fox News’ pro-Jewish bias occurred when Bogomilsky failed to mention his threat to file a lawsuit which caused the trees to be removed in the first place. Bill O’Reilly didn’t mention the litigation threat at all, making it appear as if the Sea-Tac management were just trying to be scrooges and ruin everyone’s Christmas.

Even before the Christmas trees in the main public areas were returned, after tremendous public pressure fell on the Yiddish head of Bogomilsky, the rental car agencies at the airport on their own initiative set up Christmas trees at their counters.

The real scrooge or grinch in this attack on Christianity was Rabbi Bogomilsky. His evil attempt to undermine Christmas failed in a populist revolt that should give any patriotic American great cause for rejoicing. Now great numbers of Christians going through Sea-Tac airport can enjoy the sight of Christmas trees without some pissant, Judaic Menorah being shoved in their face. While this may seem like just a small victory, it may be a sign of greater things to come.
