An article from Insight on the News reports “Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administration’s national security and foreign policy agenda. The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.”
It’s hard to take sides in this issue because it’s the war-mongering neocons versus the quota hire. It seems Condi was appointed to the position of Secretary of State because the Bush regime doesn’t consider international relations important and they needed a token Black somewhere. The US just vetoed a resolution by the rest of the world to condemn Israel for their current war on their Muslim neighbors. The US is becoming as much an outlaw and outcast state as Israel itself.
One of the major mysteries about the neocon Bush administration is the inexplicable presence of a dolled-up quota-hire named Condoleezza Rice. No one can quite figure out just how she got into the U. S. Secretary of State’s office to begin with, or exactly what she thinks she’s doing now that she’s there. An ABC news article notes “Since 1789, only eight nominees to the position of secretary of state have received votes against their confirmation; Rice’s Senate confirmation succeeded with the second-largest number of “nay” votes in history…”
In her capacity as Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice seems to have gotten the idea that the United States is supposed to TALK to people before sending in the bombers and slaughtering them by the tens of thousands. Well, sure, then, she doesn’t fit in with the neocons at all. But that doesn’t explain how she got where she is today. No, really. Race aside, I’ve heard her on television, and she seems to be of no more than average intelligence. She has all the personality of a wet noodle, and in the interviews I’ve seen of hers, she seems lost and confused by the questions.
She has a long career in the academic world with very little real world experience. She is MAYBE qualified to teach a few watered-down poli-sci courses, but she should NOT be Secretary of State for the US. No one seems to know how she got her current job and there seems to be an odd media silence on the subject. One begins to wonder if Dubya’s only vice is bourbon.
