It reinforces the desperate need and importance of the JDL. Especially your final references to our five principles, you could not have better stated exactly why every Jew should get their collective head out of the sand and admit to the racist rants and hateful behavior toward us. I have endured them for many years and I am and have been a proud member of the JDL. Unfortunately we have lost, in the past, our well educated and LEGALLY activist centered core. That, we must reconstruct. The nature of our organization is and should be the preservation and protection of Jewish people and the Jewish State in order to give us the freedom to enjoy our lives without the intrusion of hate filled jargon and attacks. Yes, I am firm on the principle that if anyone tries to assault our rights and freedoms we must and are obligated to protect our interests. It's in the Torah. Look at past history what has happened to us when we sat back and said to our communities,"Oh, don't get too worried, they would never do that." Don't demonize us when you offer no alternative to fighting antisemitism other than your politically laced diatribe. What would you do if you were under attack or the constant threat? The only true problem is that the JDL has been under poor leadership and must be re-alligned to become relevant. Some of us hope to accomplish that. MBAJ I applaud your article.
